Job summary

Esland Bedford School in Silsoe, Bedfordshire, is seeking committed Teaching Assistants to join our team from September. This permanent, full-time role supports pupils with SEMH needs in a dedicated independent school environment.

The role offers a competitive salary (£23,520–£26,358) and the chance to contribute to meaningful education for young people aged 8–18. Training and development are provided, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths, English and Science.
• Teaching assistant experience is highly desirable.
• TA qualification or a degree related to psychology/child development desirable.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Full driving licence (desirable).
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning opportunities as directed by the class teacher.
• Deliver prepared work to small groups or provide one-to-one support.
• Ensure supervision of pupils at all times including breaks and transport.
• Access training to develop classroom skills.
• Undertake whole school duties as directed by teachers or SLT.
• Support learning with individual pupils and groups.
