Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant for a rapidly expanding Alternative Provision in Essex. You will support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them engage with learning and develop essential life and social skills.

The role requires a UK-educated graduate with experience supporting children with SEMH, Autism, trauma-related difficulties, or behavioural challenges, and a strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a UK University.
• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (voluntary or paid).
• Strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability.
• Commitment from September 2026 until July 2027.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
• Supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, trauma-related difficulties, and behavioural issues.
• Assisting teachers across a range of subjects and activities.
• Promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and personal growth.
