Job summary

Aspire People is seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants to support primary and secondary pupils with complex needs in Stechford, east Birmingham. This role is in a supportive specialist setting focused on emotional, social and personal development.

You will provide individualised classroom support, assist with communication and behaviour management, and help with personal care when needed, working with staff to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, ASD, learning disabilities or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient approach and strong communication with pupils and staff.
• Willingness to support personal care and daily living activities when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to pupils in class and during targeted interventions.
• Support communication needs and adapt approaches to meet learning requirements.
• Assist with behaviour management and promote positive, consistent strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
