Job summary

Aspire People Limited is supporting a welcoming school in Bury to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. The role focuses on delivering tailored support to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs to re-engage with education and build positive routines.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviours and participate in lessons alongside teaching staff and pastoral teams in a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
• Experience supporting young people in any capacity.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding and vetting checks.

• Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Support behaviour management using consistent strategies
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Help pupils regulate emotions and develop coping mechanisms
• Support engagement in lessons and structured activities
• Promote positive behaviour, routines and expectations
