Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in Wolverhampton schools. You will support students with SEMH, both in and out of the classroom, and help maintain a calm, structured learning environment.

You will implement behaviour management strategies, work 1:1 or in small groups to re-engage pupils, and build trusting professional relationships that promote positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH settings in schools or youth work.
• Strong communication and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and apply positive behaviour strategies.
• Commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH, both in and out of the classroom.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Work 1:1 or with small groups to help pupils re-engage with learning.
• Build trusting, professional relationships that promote positive behaviour.
• Assist teachers in creating a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to behaviour plans and pastoral support programmes.
