Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher for a Derby City school from September 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate behaviour and re-engage with learning in a structured, nurturing environment.

Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only). The school emphasizes small class sizes, strong pastoral support and an experienced team to aid student progress.

Qualifications

• SEMH/SEN/PRU or alternative provision experience
• Trauma-informed and restorative practice knowledge
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across KS3 and 4
• Deliver behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
• Provide 1:1 and small-group learning and emotional support
• Implement behaviour plans and risk assessments
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
• Uphold safeguarding and welfare procedures
