Job summary

Teacher Active is partnering with Worcester schools to recruit an SEND Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Support Assistant to support learners with SEND and SEMH. You will work with teachers and therapists to develop personalised support plans and implement strategies to de-escalate challenging situations.

You will support 1:1 and small groups, adapt lessons to individual needs, and contribute to creating a safe, calm learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment
• A calm, patient and caring persona
• Good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
• Effective communication with members of internal staff

Responsibilities

• Develop personalised support plans for each student
• De-escalate challenging situations and promote a safe learning environment
• Assist teachers to develop and deliver engaging lessons
• Provide 1:1 and small group learning support to students with additional needs
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support SEMH/SEND students
