Job summary

GSL Education in Doncaster is seeking SEMH Support Staff (Primary) to help pupils with emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement. You will work with class teachers to support learning and routines.

The role may include one-to-one and small-group support across EYFS to KS2; a calm, consistent approach and strong communication are essential. Safeguarding knowledge is required and enhanced DBS safety checks are part of the process.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As SEMH Support Staff, you will provide day-to-day support to pupils who may need additional help with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in school. You will work alongside class teachers to help children manage emotions, follow routines and take part confidently in classroom activities.

The role may involve one-to-one and small-group support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on pupil needs. You will use a calm and consistent approach to help children develop positive strategies and access their learning.

To work with GSL Education as SEMH Support Staff (Primary), you should:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
