GSL Education in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Staff member to assist primary pupils with emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement.

You will work with class teachers across EYFS to KS2, providing one-to-one and small-group support in a calm, inclusive environment to help children access their learning.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Experience within a primary school, education, care or support setting is advantageous.
  • A patient, calm and consistent approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilience when supporting children with challenging behaviour or emotional needs.
  • A genuine commitment to helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group SEMH support to pupils.

Job Title: SEMH Support Staff (Primary) in Doncaster


Location: Doncaster


Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)


Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time


Start Date: Immediate Start


Are you passionate about helping primary-aged children feel supported, settled and ready to learn? A welcoming primary school in Doncaster is seeking a caring and resilient SEMH Support professional to join its team.


About the Role:

As SEMH Support Staff, you will provide day-to-day support to pupils who may need additional help with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in school. You will work alongside class teachers to help children manage emotions, follow routines and take part confidently in classroom activities.


The role may involve one-to-one and small-group support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on pupil needs. You will use a calm and consistent approach to help children develop positive strategies and access their learning.

To work with GSL Education as SEMH Support Staff (Primary), you should:


  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

  • Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

In addition to that, GSL Education are currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
