Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Chorley is seeking a Sports Coach & Behaviour Specialist to work full-time across SEMH schools in the area. The role supports both primary and secondary pupils, helping them engage in education, regulate emotions, and achieve positive outcomes.

You will deliver engaging sport and physical activity sessions, build relationships, support 1:1 and small groups, implement positive behaviour strategies, and work with teachers to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, particularly within SEMH, SEN, youth work, coaching, or behaviour support environments.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A positive, resilient, and proactive approach.
• Sports coaching qualifications or relevant experience are desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support engaging sports, fitness, and physical activity sessions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
• Support students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups or classroom settings.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour.
• Encourage participation, confidence, resilience, and teamwork through sport.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
