Job summary

Teaching Personnel in the United Kingdom is seeking enthusiastic and resilient Sports Coaches and Behaviour Specialists to work in SEMH schools across Chorley and Skelmersdale. These roles include full-time and flexible day-to-day opportunities with competitive pay and ongoing consultant support, enabling you to help pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs using sports to engage and motivate.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in schools, sports settings, youth clubs, coaching environments or care settings.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.
• Sports coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Use sports and physical activities as a tool to engage and motivate students.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage attendance, participation and achievement.
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
• Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and self-confidence.
