Job summary

Specialist SEND Group is seeking a qualified SEMH Tutor to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition for secondary learners with SEND/SEMH needs in Macclesfield. The role focuses on personalised programmes, building confidence and resilience while maintaining strong relationships with learners and families.

Successful candidates will have QTS/QTLS or equivalent, experience with secondary learners, and a patient, empathetic, flexible approach.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Experience teaching secondary-aged learners.
• Experience supporting SEND/SEMH learners.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver personalised learning programmes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 tuition sessions.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs.
• Create a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor learner progress and provide feedback where required.
• Build positive relationships with learners, families and professionals involved in the learner’s education.
• Help learners develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
