Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Qualified SEND Teacher (QTS) to join a trauma-informed SEMH specialist school in Essex. You will deliver engaging, individualized lessons and foster a safe, nurturing learning environment for pupils with SEMH and additional SEND needs.

The role requires strong behaviour management, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners. Monday–Friday, full-time, immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience in SEND/SEMH settings or Alternative Provision is preferred.
Trauma-informed approach to education is valued.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for SEMH and SEND needs.
Teach across primary or secondary key stages with appropriate adaptations.
Support pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
Implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
Create a calm, structured classroom environment and monitor pupil progress.
Collaborate with Therapists, SENCOs and other professionals to support learning.
Adapt curriculum for EHCPs and additional needs.
