Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teacher for a full-time role in Basildon, Essex. You will plan and deliver lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs and work with teaching assistants and SEND professionals to provide targeted support.

The role requires QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching experience, strong behaviour management, and a commitment to safeguarding. Immediate start preferred, with a supportive recruitment process.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience in a secondary school, SEND provision, PRU or alternative provision.
• Strong classroom and behaviour-management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to pupils’ needs.
• Build positive relationships and maintain clear boundaries in the classroom.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SEND professionals and school staff to support pupils.
