TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teacher to work full-time in Basildon, supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist education setting. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, building strong relationships, and promoting safeguarding and welfare at all times.

Qualifications

Has QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching experience.
Experience in secondary school, SEND provision, PRU or alternative provision.
Experience supporting SEMH pupils preferred.
Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills.
Able to work with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual needs and abilities.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students; maintain clear boundaries.
Use effective behaviour-management strategies to create a safe, productive classroom.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, SEND professionals and the wider school team.
