Job summary

Academics is seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our team across Sheffield's specialist schools. This role supports pupils with complex learning needs and sensory challenges, helping them smile, learn, and believe in themselves.

You'll work 1:1 and in small groups, adapt lessons and resources, and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and families to track progress and shape EHCPs. A rewarding role for patient, flexible individuals committed to making a difference.

Qualifications

• Qualified or experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent in education, childcare, or health settings.
• SEN-savvy with experience supporting children with additional needs and adapting approaches.
• Calm, patient, flexible and solution-focused when challenges arise.
• DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain.
• Two strong professional references.

• Embrace every challenge-from sensory sensitivities to speech delays, you'll meet each child where they are and take them further.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Qualified or experienced-Level 3 TA or equivalent experience in education, childcare, or health settings.
• SEN-savvy-you've supported children with additional needs and know how to adapt, connect, and inspire.
• Calm under pressure-patient, flexible, and solution-focused when things get tricky.
• DBS-ready-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or happy to get one if required.
• Reference-perfect-two strong professional references.
