Job summary

Academics Agency is seeking an ASD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs across Doncaster's specialist schools. The role involves 1:1 support and small group work, helping children build confidence and key skills.

You'll work with teachers and SENCOs, adapt activities to meet varied learning needs, and contribute to inclusive practice. DBS checks and references are preferred, with a competitive daily rate and weekly pay.

Qualifications

  • Qualified or experienced at Level 3 TA or equivalent in education, childcare, or health.
  • SEN experience and ability to adapt, connect and inspire learners.
  • Calm, patient and solution‑focused when challenges arise.
  • DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain DBS.
  • Two professional references available.

Responsibilities

  • Be a champion for pupils, providing 1:1 and small group support.
  • Adapt lessons and resources to fit each learner's needs.
  • Turn behaviour into progress with tailored strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and families to track progress.
  • Work with learners across sensory, communication and learning needs.

Special Educational Needs Secondary ASD Teaching Assistant Needed Across Doncaster area!

YOUR MISSION (SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT)
  • Be their champion -supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, building confidence and core skills.
  • Think on your feet -adapting lessons, resources, and approaches to fit each unique learner.
  • Turn behaviour into progress -using positive, tailored strategies that build self-esteem and engagement.
  • Collaborate like a pro -working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and families to track progress and shape EHCPs.
  • Embrace every challenge -from sensory sensitivities to speech delays, you'll meet each child where they are and take them further.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Qualified or experienced -Level 3 TA or equivalent experience in education, childcare, or health settings.
  • SEN-savvy -you've supported children with additional needs and know how to adapt, connect, and inspire.
  • Calm under pressure -patient, flexible, and solution-focused when things get tricky.
  • DBS-ready -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to get one if required.
  • Reference-perfect -two professional references.
