Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. This long-term role supports students with SEMH, Autism and challenging behaviour, with chances of becoming permanent as the school seeks stability and continuity.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to build trust, provide emotional support and help learners re-engage with education, collaborating with teachers and behaviour leads to deliver individual plans and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months’ experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEND setting is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
  • A passion for helping students achieve their full potential — academically and personally.

Are you a calm, resilient and caring SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a role where you can truly make a difference?
