Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking passionate Primary Teachers (QTS or ECT) to work within specialist SEMH schools across Bristol. You will teach in small classes with supportive environments, focusing on pupils who require emotional, social and behavioural support.

Working with Teaching Assistants and therapies teams, you’ll create a safe, nurturing classroom where every pupil can engage and progress. A patient, adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• QTS (ECTs welcome) or recent teaching experience in UK schools.
• SEND experience is desirable but not essential for every placement.
• Excellent communication skills with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach to supporting learners with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons as required.
• Build positive relationships to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
• Create a calm, structured classroom where pupils feel safe to learn.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet SEMH and related needs.
• Implement positive behaviour management and restorative approaches.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and pastoral teams.
• Monitor progress and contribute toward individual learning targets.
• Promote confidence, resilience and positive outcomes for every learner.
