Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is recruiting Primary Teachers (QTS or ECT) to work in specialist SEMH schools across Bristol. You’ll support students with SEMH needs in small, caring classes, building relationships and delivering engaging lessons tailored to each learner.

You’ll collaborate with TAs, therapists and pastoral teams to create a safe, nurturing learning environment that fosters confidence and progress.

Qualifications

• QTS (ECTs welcome) or previous classroom cover experience.
• SEND experience desirable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Positive and flexible attitude.
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• A calm and proactive approach to supporting pupils with a range of learning, communication and sensory needs.
• A willingness to undertake relevant training and CPD.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs (when in long term roles).
• Build positive, trusting relationships that support pupils' emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
• Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe to learn.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs.
• Implement positive behaviour management and restorative approaches to support emotional regulation.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and wider pastoral teams.
• Monitor progress, celebrate achievements and contribute towards individual learning targets.
• Promote confidence, resilience, independence and positive outcomes for every learner.
