Job summary

Kent Teaching Solutions Ltd. is seeking a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant to help pupils aged 11-16. The role focuses on one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs, aiding learning, resilience, and engagement within a caring school environment.

Applicants should have experience with SEMH, strong communication skills, and a calm approach. Level 2/3 TA qualifications or Team Teach are desirable but not essential; safeguarding remains a priority across our inclusive

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH or similar student support roles.
• Calm, empathetic and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Level 2/3 TA qualifications or Team Teach are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one and in small groups with students aged 11-16.
• Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning inside/outside the classroom.
• Develop and implement personalised support strategies with teachers and SENCO.
• Build trusting relationships to promote self-esteem, resilience and engagement.
• Assist in behaviour management and tailored interventions.
• Collaborate with staff, parents/carers and external agencies for best outcomes.
