Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for an Alternative Provision in South Birmingham. You will provide vital 1-2-1 support for students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with lessons and develop positive behaviours.

Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress and support learning in a safe, supportive environment. DBS checks apply; daily rate paid according to experience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Strong behaviour management and empathic approach.
• Ability to support individuals and small groups.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1-2-1 and small group support for SEMH students.
• Helping pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons.
• Assisting with developing positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Collaborating with teachers to support learning and behaviour management.
• Building trusting relationships to improve engagement.
• Supporting students facing barriers to learning.
• Monitoring and reporting on progress and behaviour.
• Contributing to a safe, structured learning environment.
