Job summary

Horizon Teachers are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH at a specialist school in Essex. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping with emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour.

You will build strong relationships with pupils and work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support, helping create a calm, safe learning environment. DBS check and QTS or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or additional needs.
• Patience, resilience and ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Build trusting relationships to encourage learning and personal development.
• Work with teachers to deliver tailored support and monitor progress.
