Job summary

The Education Network is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant for an Alternative Provision in Walsall. The role focuses on SEMH support, helping students re-engage with learning in a structured environment and working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.

You will deliver 1-2-1 and small group support, promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation, and monitor student progress to inform planning.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school-based Learning Support Assistant essential.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent desirable.
• Experience supporting SEMH needs and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1-2-1 and small group support for students.
• Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused during lessons.
• Helping students develop positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Working closely with teachers to support learning and behaviour management.
• Building positive relationships to encourage trust and engagement.
• Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour.
• Contributing to a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
