Protocol Education is recruiting a Learning Partner for a North Bristol primary school to support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs. You will provide calm, consistent support to help children regulate, re-engage with learning and succeed at school.
You'll assist pupils academically and emotionally, develop coping strategies and build positive relationships. Experience in youth work, care, mentoring or other child‑focused settings is welcome; this is a full‑time, in‑school role.
Do you have the patience, resilience and empathy to support children who can find the school environment challenging?
A North Bristol primary school is looking for a full-time Learning Partner to work within its specialist resource base, supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
For some pupils, anxiety, communication difficulties, sensory needs or emotional dysregulation can present through challenging behaviour. You'll provide the calm, consistent and trusted support they need to regulate, re-engage with learning and experience success at school.
You’ll support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them develop coping strategies, build positive relationships and become increasingly independent.
You’ll need to be patient, emotionally resilient and adaptable, with the ability to understand the need behind a child's behaviour rather than simply focusing on the behaviour itself.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school or SEN experience, or experience in youth work, care, mentoring, support work or other child-focused settings who is looking to develop your career within specialist education.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
