Job description

For some children, feeling safe, understood and trusted is the first step towards being ready to learn.

We're looking for a nurturing and emotionally aware Learning Partner to support primary-aged children within a specialist resource base in North Bristol.

You'll work with pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, some of whom may find relationships, routines and the demands of the school day difficult to navigate.

Your role will be about more than academic support. You'll help pupils:

  • Build trusting relationships with adults
  • Recognise and regulate their emotions
  • Develop confidence and self-esteem
  • Navigate friendships and social situations
  • Manage transitions and changes to routine
  • Gradually increase their engagement with learning

We're looking for someone who can combine warmth and empathy with clear, consistent boundaries.

Experience in education is welcomed, but candidates from nurture, pastoral, family support, mentoring, childcare and youth work backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

If you're passionate about understanding the child behind the behaviour, this could be an incredibly rewarding next step.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
