Job summary

Cover People are recruiting an SEMH Learning Support Assistant at a specialist alternative provision in Chapel-en-le-Frith. You will support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them re-engage with education and build emotional resilience.

The role is full-time and long-term, with weekly pay, competitive daily rates, and a dedicated consultant. The school emphasises wellbeing, tailored learning pathways and positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support SEMH students in lessons and intervention sessions.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Assist with behaviour management using restorative approaches.
• Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and external agencies to support student outcomes.
