Job summary

Lotus Recruitment Ltd in Halifax is seeking a Learning Mentor to join a specialist education setting on a full-time basis. You will support pupils aged 7-18 with SEMH needs and Autism, providing academic and emotional support to help them engage in lessons.

Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will implement individual learning and behaviour plans, promote positive wellbeing, and build trusting relationships with students to develop confidence and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and Autism.
• Ability to support 1:1 and small groups.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs and Autism on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Assist with delivery of lessons and learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Encourage student engagement, independence and personal development.
• Support individual learning and behaviour plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and external professionals.
