The HireWorks Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join an exceptional Chelmsford school this September. You’ll support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, helping them build confidence and resilience in a nurturing classroom.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to remove barriers to learning, promote positive behaviour, and celebrate every child's progress as part of a supportive, outcomes‑focused team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, SEND, behaviour support, youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, or mental health support is highly desirable—but above all, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, energy, and commitment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that help young people feel safe and valued.
• Encourage emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour.
• Support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
• Help deliver personalised strategies that meet each pupil's individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve the very best outcomes.
