Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Learning & Behaviour Support Assistant in the Portsmouth area. You will support children and young people with SEMH needs, promote inclusive practices, and help them overcome barriers to learning. This role involves collaboration with schools, families, and education professionals to deliver targeted support and contribute to positive educational outcomes.

Start ASAP. Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience in a UK school.
• Experience with children in education or similar settings.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable; training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with school leaders and staff to promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
• Deliver high-quality teaching and support, building positive relationships and pupil engagement.
• Support schools in developing effective plans and strengthening capacity to meet individual needs.

Education

Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential)

Previous experience working in a UK School

Experience working with children in education or in a similar setting

Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
