Job summary

Academics Ltd in Portsmouth is seeking an Outreach Support Worker / Learning Support Assistant to join a SEMH/SEN school from September. This is a full-time role with the potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience with children, ideally SEN or SEMH.
• Remote 1:1 experience is advantageous.
• Worked in schools in a supporting role or residential settings as a support worker is essential.
• Be adaptable and proactive as part of a learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students who are not able to attend school and are taught remotely; these students are linked with a SEMH school in Portsmouth serving pupils from KS2 to KS4 with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Support and assist students with their lessons, encouraging, motivating, empathic yet firm behavior to help them progress academically.
