Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate Learning Mentor to support pupils with SEMH in Sunderland's Alternative Provision. The role starts in September 2026 on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with pay between £14.25 and £17 per hour and standard school hours.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils manage emotions and behaviours while building positive relationships with learners and staff across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with Children in UK Schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Right to Work in the UK and DBS clearance requirements are indicated in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH in lessons and around school.
• Help pupils manage emotions and behaviour in a consistent and supportive manner.
• Collaborate with Class Teachers and staff to tailor learning approaches to individual pupils.
