Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a SEMH Inclusion Support Worker in Wakefield to support secondary pupils in KS3/KS4 within a structured environment. The role can be day-to-day or long-term cover, on-site in WF1, with part-time hours and a contract basis.

You will work with pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, promoting positive engagement and helping them access learning. The role requires patience, resilience and strong relationship-building abilities to support students effectively.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an SEMH provision in Wakefield who are looking to appoint a SEMH Inclusion Support Worker. The provision supports secondary-aged pupils in a structured and inclusive environment, helping young people to develop their confidence, emotional wellbeing and engagement with education.

The provision is looking for a SEMH Inclusion Support Worker to provide day-to-day or long-term cover, supporting pupils across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The successful SEMH Inclusion Support Worker will support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, promoting positive engagement and helping pupils access their learning.

The successful SEMH Inclusion Support Worker will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
