Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. is recruiting an SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant in Leeds for short-term or long-term placements. You will support students with SEMH needs, help manage challenging behaviour, and promote engagement throughout the school day. An ASAP start is available and roles can be part-time or extended according to availability.

The role offers market-rate pay, a supportive consultancy team available 24/7, CPD courses, and a referral scheme for successful placements.

Job description

Yorkshire and Humber/ contract / £110 - 130 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision in Leeds that supports students who are unable to access mainstream education. The provision offers a supportive and structured environment, helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop socially, emotionally and academically.

The provision is looking for an SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant for short-term or long-term work depending on availability, with an ASAP start. The successful SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant will support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping to manage challenging behaviour, encourage positive engagement and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The successful SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
• Experience working within an alternative provision, SEND setting or similar environment is desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
