Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a Construction Cover Supervisor to deliver a practical, hands-on construction curriculum to small groups of learners in Dudley, including bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating, and general maintenance. The role focuses on trauma-informed behaviour management, pastoral support, and close collaboration with support staff to meet EHCP targets.

This temporary to permanent position requires flexibility, a calm approach, and strong classroom

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND/SEMH students.
• Strong behaviour management.
• Practical experience in construction trades.
• Knowledge of ASdan, life skills, vocations and functional skills.
• Confidence leading sessions with and directing support staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sessions across trades such as bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating, and general maintenance.
• Apply trauma-informed approaches to classroom management.
• Support students' pastoral needs and liaise with support staff.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organised workshop with high health and safety standards.
