Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a Construction Cover Supervisor to join an expanding alternative provision in Dudley. You will deliver practical, hands-on construction sessions to small groups of learners with SEMH, focusing on bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, and general maintenance.

This role emphasizes trauma-informed behaviour management, pastoral support, and working with support staff to meet EHCP targets in a safe, well-organised workshop environment with high health and safety

Qualifications

Experience working with young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
Strong behaviour management and deskills.
Practical experience in construction trades.
Knowledge of ASdan, life skills, vocations and functional skills.
Confidence leading sessions alongside and directing support staff.

Responsibilities

Deliver sessions across trades including bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating, and general maintenance.
Support students pastoral needs and work with support staff.
Contribute to EHCP targets and maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment with high health and safety standards.
