Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a Construction Teacher to join an expanding alternative provision in Solihull, delivering a practical construction curriculum to small groups of learners with SEMH. Sessions cover bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating, and general maintenance.

You will employ trauma-informed behaviour management, support students’ pastoral needs, and contribute to EHCP targets while maintaining a safe workshop environment with health and safety at the

Qualifications

Experience working with young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
Strong behaviour management and deskills.
Practical experience in construction trades.
Ability to deliver engaging small-group sessions.
Confidence leading sessions alongside and directing support staff.

Responsibilities

Deliver practical construction sessions across bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating, and general maintenance.
Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop with high health and safety standards.
Support students’ pastoral needs and contribute to EHCP targets.
Work with support staff to deliver sessions and track progress.
