Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring Classroom Support Assistant in Wigan to support pupils aged 11-19 with SEND, ASC, SEMH, ADHD and related needs. You will work within a specialist education setting, providing tailored support and facilitating engagement with learning in small classes.

Qualifications

Experience supporting students with SEND is desirable.
Ability to adapt activities for individual needs.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within the classroom.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in education.
Build positive relationships to support emotional wellbeing and confidence.
Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
Support students with communication, social interaction and life skills development.
Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
