Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist school in Bury, Greater Manchester. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, assisting with lessons and behaviour interventions.

Applicants should have experience working with children or young people in appropriate settings, a calm and proactive approach, strong communication skills, and knowledge of SEMH strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEMH/behavioural needs
• Calm, empathetic and proactive approach to managing behaviour
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Understanding of SEMH and SEND strategies
• Qualification in support, care or education desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for SEMH pupils
• Assist teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour support
• Promote positive routines and emotional regulation
• Use de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches
• Contribute to progress tracking and family communication
