Job summary

Pink Tile Education Ltd is opening a specialist SEMH school in Esher, Surrey, and is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils aged 7–17 with SEMH and MLD. The role is 8:30am–4:30pm, full-time, at £110 per day, on a 12-month fixed-term contract starting in September.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, using positive behaviour strategies to foster engagement and emotional regulation, while collaborating with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND, education, care or youth work.
• Confident supporting pupils with behaviours that may challenge.
• Calm, patient and resilient under pressure.
• Passionate about helping young people succeed, both academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team to implement individual support plans.
• Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
