Job summary

Pink Tile Education Ltd is opening a brand-new specialist SEMH school in Esher and seeks Behaviour Assistants to support pupils aged 7–17 with SEMH and MLD. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support across the school day, with a 12-month fixed-term contract starting in September.

You will work closely with teachers and the pastoral team to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning, requiring calm, resilient, and empathetic approaches.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education, SEND, care or youth work is desirable.
• Calm, resilient and empathetic with a positive approach.
• Confident managing behaviour and building positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis throughout the school day.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop emotional regulation strategies.
• Build trusted relationships to improve confidence, attendance and engagement.
• Support pupils both in and out of the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers and the pastoral team to meet individual needs.
