Job summary

Long Term Futures are recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for a supportive primary school in Dudley on a long-term basis. You will support pupils with SEMH, SEND and behavioural needs in 1:1, small groups, and in the classroom, helping them engage and regulate their emotions.

The role focuses on building positive relationships, managing challenging behaviour and supporting pupils to meet targets with SENCO and teachers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting primary-aged children with SEND or SEMH needs.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with a calm, patient approach.
• Strong relationship-building skills with pupils, teachers and SENCO.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Help children manage emotions, behaviour and classroom routines.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement.
• Support pupils with EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO.
