Northwest Regional Education Service District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Meadowlark Academy in St. Helens. The role supports licensed staff with instruction and data entry to assist students with IEP/IFSP goals and safety supervision.

The position is part-time 0.9375 FTE, on a classified salary schedule, offering flexible hours and opportunities to collaborate with teachers and support staff while promoting inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift students from a wheelchair to the floor and back.
• Child Care Central Background Registry Clearance.
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to speak Spanish, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials under the direction of a licensed teacher.
• Provide instruction under the direction of a licensed teacher.
• Assist the teacher in working with students to complete assignments.
• Assist the teacher in grading and recording students' assignments.
• Take and maintain data as needed and required by the licensed teacher.
• Assist students with restroom needs as advised.
• Maintain student safety and monitor behavior at recess, in class, and during bus loading/unloading.
• Note discipline issues and complete accurate paperwork for reporting such incidents.
• Participate in restraint training as required.
