Job summary

Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated classroom assistant to support teaching and learning across the school day. You will work with pupils to enhance engagement, remove barriers to learning and promote wellbeing.

Experience with children and with pupils with special needs is valued; you will collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure accurate progress records and informed planning.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children.
• Experience with children with special needs is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Confident and self-motivated with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for classroom assistance to promote effective teaching and learning.
• Support and supervise pupils and students throughout the school day.
• Assist the teacher in keeping a record of events and progress and raising concerns to inform assessment and future planning.
• Assist in keeping records of pupil/student progress and report achievements in line with school policy.
