Job summary

Qube Recruitment represents Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock for a Security Team Leader role on a 40-hour week. This hands‑on leadership position drives a busy on‑site security operation to keep visitors, retailers and staff safe and supported.

You will lead the on‑shift Security Officers, supervise briefings, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents and maintain accurate logs and handovers, while collaborating with centre management and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security teams in busy public-facing environments.
• SIA Frontline and Door Supervision license required.
• Experience with CCTV and incident reporting systems.
• Strong communication and conflict-management skills.
• Experience handling incidents and emergencies.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• ACT/Counter Terrorism training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Security Officers on shift.
• Conduct team briefings and allocate daily duties.
• Maintain a highly visible and professional security presence.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms and first aid situations.
• Monitor CCTV, access control and incident management systems.
• Ensure patrols, safety checks and security procedures are completed correctly.
• Provide professional support to customers, retailers and contractors.
• Complete accurate incident reports, logs and shift handovers.
• Work closely with centre management, FM, cleaning and contractor teams.
• Support investigations and evidence gathering where required.
• Coach, mentor and develop Security Officers.
• Identify security risks and support continuous improvement across the site.

Security Team Leader

Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock

£36,685 per annum

40 hours per week | 4 on / 4 off | Days & Nights

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Security Team Leader to join the security operation at Lakeside Shopping Centre.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will play a key part in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for visitors, retailers, contractors and colleagues.

Working alongside the Security Manager, you will lead and support the security team on shift, ensuring the highest standards of security, customer service and operational compliance are maintained.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable and calm under pressure, with the ability to lead a team in a busy public-facing environment.

You’ll need:

• Previous experience as a Security Team Leader, Security Supervisor or Senior Security Officer.
• A valid SIA Frontline and Door Supervision license.
• Experience with CCTV and incident reporting systems.
• Strong communication and conflict-management skills.
• Experience dealing with incidents and emergencies.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• ACT/Counter Terrorism training.
• Experience within retail, leisure, hospitality, shopping centres or large venues.

IOSH or relevant Health & Safety training would be desirable.
