Job summary

ISS is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead on-site security operations, oversee security personnel and protect people, property and assets. The role emphasizes delivering high standards of service, professional conduct, and strict compliance with procedures.

You will monitor activity, manage incidents, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and stakeholders while upholding Health & Safety policies. This is a frontline leadership position within ISS’s security team.

Qualifications

  • Front-line SIA licence required.
  • SC clearance or willingness to obtain clearance.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to achieve it.
  • Strong IT skills and experience with security systems.
  • Proven leadership and customer service abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, organise, and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to undertake an apprenticeship for professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day security operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery, professionalism, and compliance.
  • Lead by example, guiding and supporting security personnel on shift.
  • Represent ISS professionally, building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and respond to security risks and suspicious activity.
  • Control site access and ensure security procedures are followed.
  • Monitor site activity and events, taking proactive measures as needed.
  • Manage security incidents following site procedures and organisational requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, contractors and partners.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed and hazards are reported promptly.

Job description

As a Security Supervisor with ISS, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and secure environment while leading security operations on site. You will be responsible for overseeing security personnel, supporting the protection of our customer's people, property, and assets, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, compliance, and professionalism are consistently achieved.

The Role
  • Supervise day-to-day security operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery, professionalism, and compliance.
  • Lead by example, providing guidance and support to security personnel on shift.
  • Represent ISS professionally, building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Remain vigilant, identifying, assessing, and responding appropriately to security risks and suspicious activity.
  • Control site access, preventing unauthorised entry and ensuring all security procedures are followed.
  • Monitor site activity, events, and operational requirements, taking proactive measures where necessary.
  • Manage and escape security incidents in accordance with site procedures and organisational requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, contractors, and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, reporting hazards, incidents, and breaches promptly.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a security supervisory role within a professional environment.
  • Valid front-line SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision, or Close Protection).
  • Current SC clearance, or the willingness and eligibility to obtain clearance.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification, or a willingness to achieve it.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using security systems and incident reporting platforms.
  • Experience managing security incidents, investigations, and escalation processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to complete a relevant apprenticeship as part of ongoing professional development.
