Job summary

BT Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Support specialist to manage a large, complex, highly secure Managed Service supporting UK national infrastructure and HM Government Defence operations. The role operates under the Operational Service Manager and Platform Technical Team, with responsibility for service resilience, security assurance, and on‑shift incident handling.

On shift you will cover 1st and 2nd line activities, follow SYOPS and procedures, and contribute to security

Qualifications

• Operational experience supporting secure Managed Services.
• Knowledge across networking, infrastructure, security, virtualization and environmental systems.
• Stakeholder management across virtual/on-site teams, BT lines of business, suppliers and customers.
• Procedural discipline with SYOPS, processes and local work instructions.
• Teamworking and inclusive behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for ALL 1st and 2nd Line operational activities for a large, complex, highly secure Managed Service.
• Operate strictly in accordance with platform and building SYOPS, processes and local work instructions.
• Maintain full awareness of operational priorities, security posture and live service risk.
• Support the platform team in regular testing and development of service capability.
• Identify, escalate, and support resolution of incidents and service degradation.
• Assist in attaining and maintaining government security accreditation for the Managed Service.
