Job summary

G-Research in London offers a Security Operations internship for a placement-year Cyber Security student graduating in 2029. You’ll investigate alerts, assist across threat intel, detection engineering, forensics and malware analysis.

You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers, work on Windows/Linux/Kubernetes and cloud environments, and help triage incidents while developing practical skills in a fast-paced, enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Student enrolled in a Cyber Security degree with a placement year, graduating in 2029.
• Strong interest in cyber security with solid technical foundation.
• Proactive, methodical approach to problem solving.
• Good communication and ability to support internal users professionally.
• Strong organisational skills and quick learning in a fast-moving environment.
• Predicted grade of 2:1 or above.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for cyber security matters.
• Investigate security alerts across Windows, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Lead triage and coordination of security incidents.
• Conduct threat hunting across a centralised data lake.
• Use threat intelligence to enhance detection capabilities.
• Work with SIEM tools from Azure, Elastic and AWS.
