Job summary

G-Research is seeking a motivated Security Operations intern based in Central London to gain hands-on experience investigating security alerts and incidents. You will support senior team members across threat intelligence, detection engineering, forensics and malware analysis, with a mentor guiding your learning.

This 12-month placement (July 2027–July 2028) runs 09:00–17:30 and offers exposure to Windows, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments, SIEM tools, and enterprise security operations

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in cyber security concepts and tools.
• Proactive, methodical approach to solving problems.
• Good communication and ability to support internal users.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for cyber security matters.
• Investigate security alerts across Windows, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Lead triage and coordination of security incidents.
• Conduct threat hunting across a central data lake.
• Use threat intelligence to improve detection capabilities.
• Work with SIEM tools and internal interfaces.
