Job summary

G-Research in London offers a Security Operations internship to gain hands-on experience investigating security alerts and incidents. You will work with threat intelligence, detection engineering, forensics and malware analysis, supported by a mentor to guide your learning throughout the placement year.

Ideal candidates are Cyber Security degree students graduating in 2029, with a proactive, methodical approach and strong communication.

Qualifications

• A strong interest in cyber security and a solid technical foundation.
• A proactive, methodical approach to problem solving.
• Good communication skills and the ability to support internal users with professionalism and clarity.
• Strong organisational skills and a desire to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
• A predicted grade of 2:1 or above

Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for cyber security matters within the business
• Investigating security alerts across a range of systems and platforms, including Windows, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments
• Leading the triage and coordination of security incidents raised across the organisation
• Conducting threat hunting across a large, centralised data lake
• Using threat intelligence sources to enhance and tune existing detection capabilities
• Working with our internally developed interface backed by SIEM tools from Azure, Elastic and AWS
